Location: Middle East and North Africa Prior Study Required: One Year

Arabic is a high-priority language for careers in diplomacy, trade, and national security across the Middle East and North Africa. Modern Standard Arabic serves as the shared written form used in government, media, and formal communication, while regional dialects vary widely in pronunciation, vocabulary, and everyday usage. CLS participants study Modern Standard Arabic while also building familiarity with regional varieties used in everyday communication.
